Here's how to take a screenshot on Windows with various methods. There are various tools available to allow the Windows users to take a screenshot of a particular area. How to Take a Screenshot on a PC Using Snipping Tool. If you don't want any trouble to screenshot Windows 10, then the snipping tool is perfect for you. The only difference is that a screenshot is the picture of whatever it is that you are looking at on your monitor or your device. A screenshot can be a picture of a single program, the whole screen, or even pictures of multiple screens if you have a dual monitor setup in your system. Look for the Print Screen key on your keyboard, which might be labeled PrtScn or something similar. To capture the entire screen (everything you see on the screen, including all open windows).
Most users come across the need to take Screenshots in Windows 10 while trying to troubleshoot a problem on their computer with the help of an online friend, who may want to see a screenshot of the error message on your computer.
In addition to this, being able to take screenshots in Windows 10 can become handy when you come across the need to take a picture of the list of Files/folders on your computer, feel like capturing an image on your computer to share with your family/friends and various other occasions.

Take Screenshot of the Entire Screen
Windows 10 makes it really easy to capture the entire screen of your computer. All that you need to do is press the dedicated Print Screen button, located on the keyboard of your computer in combination with either Windows or Function (FN) key (depending on your computer).
On most keyboards the Print Screen button is located at the far right-corner of the keyboard (near F12 Key) and it is usually labeled as Print Scr, PrntScr, or as PrntScrn.
1. Hold down the Windows key and then press the Print Scr Key located at the top-right corner of your keyboard.
Note: Depending on the keyboard, you may have to use FN + Print Scr keys or Windows + FN + Print Scr key combinations. Try out these combinations or refer to the manual of your computer to know the right keyboard shortcut.
2. Once you press the right key combination, you will see the screen dim for a moment, indicating that the entire screen of your computer has been captured in a screenshot.
3. Next, Navigate to This PC > Pictures > Screenshots Folder to find the screenshot of the entire screen that you just took on your computer (See image below)

Take Screenshot of Part of Screen
The Creators update in Windows 10 has added the ability to take screenshot of part of the screen.
1. Press Windows + Shift + S keys on the keyboard of your computer. This will make the screen Grayed out and the Mouse cursor will change into a Cross-hair pattern.
2. Click the left key on your Mouse and then select the part of the screen that you want to capture by dragging your Mouse. Once the area is selected, release the Mouse Key and the Screenshot of the selected Area will be copied to the Clipboard.
3. Next, open Paint and Paste the screen shot by pressing Ctrl + V or by clicking on the Paste Icon > Paste option.
Note: This method does not work in older versions of Windows 10.
Capture Entire Screen to Clipboard in Windows 10
You can also copy the entire screen of your computer to the Clipboard, instead of saving it to the Pictures Folder.
1. Just Press the Prnt Scr key on the keyboard of your computer. This will take a screenshot of the entire screen on your computer and Copy it to the Clipboard.
Note: On some keyboards, you may need to press FN + Prnt Scr or other key combinations.
2. Next, you can open Paint, Word or any other program, in order to Paste the Clipboard data.
3. In the case of Paint, click on the Paste icon and then click on Paste option in the little drop-down that appears (See image below).
4. Next, click on File > Save As option to save the File in PNG, JPEG or other File formats (See image below).

In case your computer is connected to multiple monitors, using Prnt Scr or Win+Prnt Scr keyboard combination captures screenshots of both the screens attached to your computer.
In such a case, you can capture screenshot of the active screen only by using Alt+Prnt Scr key combination. However, in this case the screenshot will only be copied to the Clipboard and not automatically saved in the screenshots folder.
Hence, you will have to open a program like Paint and Paste the screenshot and save the file using steps as listed above.
Note: On some computers, you may need to press Alt + Fn + Prnt Scr keys, in order to capture a screenshot of the active screen. Check your Laptop or computers manual for the right keyboard shortcut.
Take Screenshots in Windows 10 Using Snipping Tool
In case you were not aware, Windows 10 includes a built-in Snipping Tool that allows you take screenshot of the entire screen and also to take screenshots of selected areas on the screen of your computer.
Snipping tool allows you take screenshots by selecting a rectangular area, a free-form area, or the entire screen. You can also annotate the screenshots using coloured pens or highlighter.
The resulting screenshot or snips can either be saved to any location on your computer or immediately sent to your friends or any of your Contacts.
1. Open the Snipping Tool on your computer by clicking on Start > Windows Accessories > Snipping Tool (See image below)

2. On the Snipping Tool pop-up window, click on the New option (See image below).
3. Clicking on 'New' will make the screen faded and you will see the mouse cursor turning into a cross-hair pattern. This will allow you to select the area that you want to capture in a screenshot by holding the Mouse key and dragging the cursor around the area.

4. Once your desired area is selected, release the Mouse Key and the screen shot will be copied to the Clipboard.
5. Next, click on File > Save As option within the Snipping Tool to save the screen shot to any location on your computer (See image below).
Take Screenshots in Windows 10 During Game Play
In case Game Mode is enabled on your computer, you can also take screenshots while playing Games on your computer using the Xbox app.
The Gaming Mode in Windows 10 allows you to capture screenshots and even record Game Play Footage while playing Video Games on your computer.
However, you will have to first Enable Game Bar and the option to take screenshots during Game Play using the settings option in Windows 10.
1. Open Settings > click on Gaming on the settings screen
2. On the next screen, click on Game Bar in the side menu and then toggle ON the option to Record Game Clips, Screenshots, and broadcast using Game Bar (See image below)
After this you will be able to take Screenshots and record game play clips while playing games on your computer using the Xbox app in Windows 10.
3. While playing Games, you can launch the Game Bar at any time by pressing Windows + G keys and take screenshots during Game Play by clicking on the Camera icon on the Game Bar or using Windows + Alt + Prnt Scr keys (See image below).
Note: The keyboard shortcut will only work if you have previously checked the 'Yes, this is a game' option (See image below).
4. Once you take a screenshot, you will see 'Screenshot Saved' notification, letting you know that the screenshot has been saved on your computer.
5. You can see the saved screenshot by navigating to This PC > Videos > Captures folder on your computer (See image below).

How to screenshot on Lenovo if you have Windows 10
- Hold down the Windows key, then press the PrtSc key. The screen will dim for a moment, and the image on your monitor will save to the Screenshots folder in your Files.
- Another way to screenshot is to hold down the Windows key, then press the W key. A sidebar menu will appear on the right side of your monitor. Select ScreenSketch from the menu.

How to screenshot on Lenovo if you don't have Windows 10
If you don't have Windows 10, use this method instead. It requires more steps, but it combines the functionality of the other two.
1. Press the PrtSc (Print Screen) key on your keyboard to copy an image of your screen to the clipboard.
2. Open Paint, or a similar application, and use the Paste function to open the image in the program.
